Score Trends & Analytics
Tracking Your Score Over Time
The Score Trends feature provides visual charts that show how your AdGateScore has changed across multiple scans. Instead of looking at individual scan results in isolation, trends give you the big picture of your website's improvement trajectory.
Accessing Score Trends
Navigate to the Trends page from the navigation bar, or click the "View Trends" button on your scan results page. The trends dashboard displays line charts for your overall score as well as each individual scoring module. You need at least two scans to see trend data.
Reading the Trend Charts
The main chart shows your overall AdGateScore plotted over time. Each data point represents one scan. The x-axis shows dates and the y-axis shows your score from 0 to 100. Hover over any data point to see the exact score, date, and grade for that scan.
Below the main chart, you will find individual trend lines for each scoring module: Performance, Content Quality, Policy Compliance, Site Architecture, and Traffic Signals. These module-level trends help you understand which areas are improving and which might be stagnating or declining.
What the Trends Tell You
An upward trend means your site is improving over time, which is exactly what you want to see. If your overall trend is flat, it usually means you have not made significant changes since your last scan, or your improvements in one area are being offset by declines in another.
A downward trend is a signal to investigate. Common reasons for score declines include:
- Site speed regression: Adding new scripts, plugins, or unoptimized images can slow your site down and lower your Performance score.
- Content changes: Removing pages, publishing thin content, or changing your content structure can affect Content Quality scores.
- Traffic drops: Seasonal traffic fluctuations or algorithm changes can lower your Traffic Signals score.
- Expired SSL or policy pages: If your SSL certificate lapses or you remove required pages, Policy Compliance will drop.
Weekly Score Digests
Pro and Premium users can enable weekly email digests that summarize their score changes over the past seven days. These emails include your current score, the change from last week, and any new critical issues that appeared. Enable this from your Account settings under Notifications.
Using Trends for Planning
Trends are most useful when combined with a systematic improvement plan. Look at which modules have the lowest scores and the flattest trend lines. These are the areas where focused effort will yield the biggest improvements. If your Performance score has been stuck at 55 for three scans, it is time to prioritize page speed optimization.
Conversely, if a module score is already high (above 85) and trending upward, you can deprioritize it and focus your energy elsewhere. The goal is to bring all modules up to a level where your target ad networks will approve your site.
Sharing Trend Data
Premium users can include trend charts in their PDF reports, which is valuable for client presentations and stakeholder updates. The charts clearly demonstrate the return on investment from website optimization work.
